Colleen Yanez has been working with teens and young adults for over 25 years. In that time, Colleen has worked as an administrator and teacher, specializing in working with middle school and high school students of all abilities. She has a master’s degree in Special Education and is an expert in working with people who need support in executive functioning. In addition, Colleen has been coaching teens and young adults, and their parents, for over 12 years, supporting them in their journeys to have breakthroughs in their lives. This coaching has supported them to transform their relationship to self, others and their lives.
Colleen is located in Colorful Colorado where she lives with her husband and fur babies. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you take the first step in living the life of your dreams!
As a teenager, Colleen struggled with many of the same things that kids today face: divorce, difficulties making friends, depression. At that time, there weren’t many resources available to help teens like Colleen. In fact, the one time she saw a therapist, Colleen quit when the therapist divulged what she shared with her parents. For years, she was on her own, struggling to make sense of things. Colleen explored a number of ways to help her sort things out, but it took years for her to make sense of life and her struggles.
Colleen promises that it doesn’t have to be like that for you!
Going into education and life coaching, Colleen chose to do so because she never wanted people to struggle the way she did. She never wants teens to feel that they’re not good enough or to give up on their dreams because of limiting beliefs that get in the way. Colleen has worked with teens and young adults struggling with everything from being bullied, to family conflict, self esteem issues, and everything in between. And it’s through her care, concern and coaching that they have had life changing breakthroughs, putting limiting beliefs behind them and having the courage to face their biggest fears and challenges and unlock what’s truly possible!
